Outline #17: The Prospect of Future Glory – 8:18-30

Having established that believers have been freed from the condemnation and dominion of sin through their union with Christ and the indwelling Spirit in the first part of the chapter, Paul now turns to the hope that sustains them amid present suffering. Though creation, believers, and even the Spirit groan under the effects of the Fall, these groanings are not signs of defeat but of eager anticipation, pointing forward to the glory yet to be revealed. The certainty of that future rests not on human strength but on God’s sovereign purpose. From His providential working in every circumstance to His eternal plan to conform His people to the image of His Son, Paul assures believers that their future glorification is absolutely secure.
