Our Enemies

We are body, soul, and spirit. We have an advocate in God (1 Thess 5:23)

But we also have enemies.

Sun Tzu is credited with the phrase “Keep your friends close; keep your enemies closer.”

Sun Tzu:
Know the enemy and know yourself in a hundred battles you will never be in peril.
When you are ignorant of the enemy but know yourself, your chances of winning or losing are equal.
If ignorant both of your enemy and of yourself, you are certain in every battle to be in peril.

Christian Version:
Know your God, yourself, and your enemy!
GOD: Paul – Php 3:10; 2 Tim 1:12
YOU: Rom 12:3
HIM+: 2 Cor 2:11; Eph 6:11

Them: The Flesh, The World

The Devil is opposed to the Son, as all through the Scriptures.

The flesh is opposed to the Spirit, as Gal. 5:16, 17.

The world is opposed to the Father, as 1 John 2:15;James 4:4

The body can be brought under bondage to the flesh. (1 Cor 9:27;Gal 5:16,17)

The soul finds its opponent in the world.

The spirit is in conflict with that evil spirit:  the Devil.

Satan uses the world and the flesh for his purposes.
