Mind In NEB

The mind of the Trinity:

Romans 11:34 (CSB)
1 Corinthians 2:11,16 (Isaiah 40:13)
Romans 8:27 (ESV)

God’s mind:

Hebrews 11:40
(NEB) because, with us in mind, God had made a better plan, that only in company with us should they reach their perfection.(NLT) For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.
(In WBT [J. M. Flanigan])
We have an opened sanctuary;
we have a Man in the glory as our great high priest;
we have consciences purged and perfected as far as sins are concerned;
we are actually seated in the heavenlies;
we have within us the earnest of an indwelling Spirit.

A guarded mind:

Phil 4:7;Colossians 2:8
Philippians 4:7 (NEB)
Then the peace of God, which is beyond our utmost understanding, will keep guard over your hearts and your thoughts, in Christ Jesus.
(NEB) Be on your guard; do not let your minds be captured by hollow and delusive speculations, based on traditions of man-made teaching and centred on the elemental spirits of the universe and not on Christ.

“You cannot stop the birds from flying over your tree,
but you can stop them from building a nest in it.”
Study, search, know the scriptures that will help you to avoid the deception and temptation of the world.

A convinced mind:

Romans 14:1,5,6
When in doubt, go to God in prayer, go to the scriptures, go to a mentor, to settle your mind as to the right path.
Try to find comfort.

A settled/unsettled mind:

Galatians 1:7
There are persons who unsettle your minds by trying to distort the gospel of Christ.
Galatians 5:10
The man who is unsettling your minds, must bear God’s judgement.

Your mindset, Set/Don’t set:

Matthew 6:33; (NEB)

33 Set your mind on God’s kingdom and his justice before everything else, and all the rest will come to you as well.

Luke 12:31 (NEB)

31 No, set your mind upon his kingdom, and all the rest will come to you as well.

Luke 12:29 (NEB)

29 And so you are not to set your mind on food and drink; you are not to worry.

Luke 21:14,15 (NEB)

14 so make up your minds not to prepare your defence beforehand, 15 because I myself will give you power of utterance and a wisdom which no opponent will be able to resist or refute.

Romans 12:1 (NEB)

12 Therefore, my brothers, I implore you by God’s mercy to offer your very selves to him: a living sacrifice, dedicated and fit for his acceptance, the worship offered by mind and heart.

Romans 12:2 (NEB)

2 Adapt yourselves no longer to the pattern of this present world, but let your minds be remade and your whole nature thus transformed. Then you will be able to discern the will of God, and to know what is good, acceptable, and perfect.

Philippians 3:13–19 (NEB)

13 My friends, I do not reckon myself to have got hold of it yet. All I can say is this: forgetting what is behind me, and reaching out for that which lies ahead, 14 I press towards the goal to win the prize which is God’s call to the life above, in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us then keep to this way of thinking, those of us who are mature. If there is any point on which you think differently, this also God will make plain to you. 16 Only let our conduct be consistent with the level we have already reached.

17 Agree together, my friends, to follow my example. You have us for a model; watch those whose way of life conforms to it. 18 For, as I have often told you, and now tell you with tears in my eyes, there are many whose way of life makes them enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 They are heading for destruction, appetite is their god, and they glory in their shame. Their minds are set on earthly things.

1 Timothy 6:3,4 (NEB)

If anyone is teaching otherwise, and will not give his mind to wholesome precepts—I mean those of our Lord Jesus Christ—and to good religious teaching,
I call him a pompous ignoramus. He is morbidly keen on mere verbal questions and quibbles, which give rise to jealousy, quarrelling, slander, base suspicions,

Hebrews 12:15–17 (NEB)

15 Look to it that there is no one among you who forfeits the grace of God, no bitter, noxious weed growing up to poison the whole, 16 no immoral person, no one worldly-minded like Esau. 17 He sold his birthright for a single meal, and you know that although he wanted afterwards to claim the blessing, he was rejected; though he begged for it to the point of tears, he found no way open for second thoughts.

James 1:5–8 (NEB)

If any of you falls short in wisdom, he should ask God for it and it will be given him, for God is a generous giver who neither refuses nor reproaches anyone. But he must ask in faith, without a doubt in his mind; for the doubter is like a heaving sea ruffled by the wind. A man of that kind must not expect the Lord to give him anything; he is double-minded, and never can keep a steady course.

James 4:8 (NEB)

Come close to God, and he will come close to you. Sinners, make your hands clean;you who are double-minded, see that your motives are pure.

1 Peter 3:8 (NEB)

To sum up: be one in thought and feeling, all of you; be full of brotherly affection, kindly and humble-minded.

1 Peter 4:1 (NEB)

Remembering that Christ endured bodily suffering, you must
arm yourselves with a temper of mind like his. When a man has thus endured bodily suffering he has finished with sin,
(Rom 8:29 KJV)

2 Peter 1:19 (NEB)

19 All this only confirms for us the message of the prophets, to which you will do well to attend, because it is like a lamp shining in a murky place, until the day breaks and the morning star rises to illuminate your minds.
