The Sixth Covenant – Between God and the House of David
(2 Sam 7:8-16)
Unconditional
As to Israel:
- They will have a permanent place to dwell
- They will not be afflicted by the wicked
As to David:
- He is to have a house (a seed, or posterity)
- His seed shall be established
- His seed shall build a house for the name of The Lord
- His seed would be chastised but not rejected for sin… as a son, not a servant
- His house, throne, and kingdom to be established forever
