in the totality of all that is essential to manhood,
i.e., spirit, soul, and body:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd the Word became flesh and dwelt among us\u2026 (John 1:14, NKJV)
\u201c\u2026God was manifested in the flesh\u2026\u201d (1 Timothy 3:16, NKJV)
\u201c\u2026Jesus Christ has come in the flesh\u2026\u201d (1 John 4:2, NKJV)
\u201c\u2026deceivers\u2026who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh\u2026\u201d (2 John 7, NKJV)
\u201cwho, in the days of His flesh\u2026\u201d (Hebrews 5:7, NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cThe substance of the body,\u201d whether of beasts or of men<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, animals, fish, birds.\u201d (1 Corinthians 15:39, NKJV)

\u201cThe human living in the flesh,\u201d:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.\u201d (2 Corinthians 10:3, NKJV)
\u201c\u2026the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God\u2026\u201d (Galatians 2:20, NKJV)
\u201cBut if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor\u2026\u201d (Philippians 1:22, NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cmankind,\u201d<\/em><\/strong>
in the totality of all that is essential to manhood, i.e., spirit, soul, and body:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved\u2026\u201d (Matthew 24:22, NKJV)
\u201cwho were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh\u2026\u201d (John 1:13, NKJV)
\u201cTherefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight\u2026\u201d (Romans 3:20, NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cThe complete person,\u201d:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our flesh had no rest\u2026\u201d (2 Corinthians 7:5, KJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cThe weaker element in human nature,\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2026The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.\u201d (Matthew 26:41, NKJV)
\u201cI speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh\u2026\u201d (Romans 6:19, NKJV)
\u201cFor what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh\u2026\u201d (Romans 8:3, NKJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cNatural relationship,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> 1 Cor. 10:18 KJV; Gal. 4:23, “or marital,”<\/em><\/strong> Matt. 19:5.\u201d Vine<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cThe unregenerate state of men,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> Rom. 7:5; 8:8, 9;
\u201cThe seat of sin in man\u201d<\/em><\/strong> 2 Pet. 2:18; 1 John 2:16;
\u201cThe lower and temporary element in the Christian,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> Gal. 3:3; 6:8
\u201cThe natural attainments of men,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> 1 Cor. 1:26; 2 Cor. 10:2, 3b;
“The externals of life,”<\/em><\/strong> 2 Cor. 7:1 KJV;
\u201cThe outward and seeming, as contrasted with the spirit, the inward and real,”<\/em><\/strong> John 6:63; 2 Cor. 5:16;

The flesh can bring the body under bondage
1 Cor 9:27 Paul says \u201cbody\u201d but the physical material of the body is incapable of sinning on its own.
Jack Hunter, in his \u201cWhat the Bible Teaches\u201d commentary on 1 Corinthians 9:27<\/a> states;
\u201cBy this he means the power of sin in his life.
The body is not the seat of sin as is so often said.
The seat of sin lies in the will.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


(Rom 8:6-7; \u2013 the mind, the word for flesh)
1 Pet 4:2 man can live in the flesh for the lusts of men, or for the will of God
Gal 6:8 man can sow to the flesh and reap corruption or sow to the Spirit and reap everlasting life<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The flesh will war against the soul 1 Pet 2:11
The flesh is opposed to the Spirit, as Gal. 5:16, 17.
Satan uses the flesh for his purposes. 1 Chron 21:1<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the flesh can appeal to<\/em><\/strong>:
The desire for pleasure or power<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pride
Lust
Envy\/jealousy
Greed
