One object of the Englishman\u2019s Bible is to present to the eye of the Reader these various titles as they really exist in the Inspired Originals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A name or title is expressive of nature and character. Jehovah-Shahmmah, \u05d4\u05d5\u05d9\u05d4 \u05e9\u05de\u05d4;, \u201cJehovah is there.\u201d Ezek. 48:35.<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"EL_%D7%90%D6%B5%D7%9C\"><\/span>EL. \u05d0\u05b5\u05dc<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The title \u00cbl (<sup>\u2014<\/sup>God, singular) occurs about 250 times.<br>The first occurrence is in Gen. 14:18, 19, 20, 22. (Gen 14:18,19,20,22) \u201cMost High \u201cGod (\u00cbl), possessor of <sup>=<\/sup>heaven and earth.\u201d<br>\u00cbl signifies \u201c strong,\u201d \u201c first.\u201d It is the title which shows God to be the Mighty One, the First Great Cause of all.<br>This title is generally connected with some one or more of the Divine attributes or perfections ; as\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAlmighty \u201cGod.\u201d Gen. 17:1.<br>\u201c Everlasting \u201cGod.\u201d Gen 21:33.<br>\u201cA jealous \u201cGod.\u201d Exod. 20:5.<br>\u201cA \u201cGod of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.\u201d Deut. 32:4.<br>\u201cA great \u201cGod, a mighty and a terrible.\u201d Deut. 10:17.<br>\u201c <em>The<\/em> living \u201cGod.\u201d Josh. 3:10.<br>\u201cA merciful \u201cGod.\u201d Deut. 4:31.<br>\u201cA faithful \u201cGod.\u201d Deut. 7:9.<br>\u201cA mighty and terrible \u201cGod.\u201d Deut. 7:21, etc., etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The persons of the Godhead are three\u2014Father, Son, and Spirit ; but in nature and essence God is one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each attribute of God is infinite. One infinite eternal love, one infinite almighty power, and so on ; hence the attributes are connected generally with the singular name for God, \u00c9l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ELOAH_%D7%90%D6%B1%D7%9C%D6%A3%D7%95%D6%B9%D7%94%D6%B7\"><\/span>ELOAH. \u05d0\u05b1\u05dc\u05a3\u05d5\u05b9\u05d4\u05b7<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eloah (<sup>eh<\/sup>\u201cGod, singular), from AHLAH, to worship, to adore, presents God as the one supreme object of worship, the Adorable One.<br>It occurs about 56 times.<br>First, in Deut. 32:15. \u201c Then he forsook Eloah, which made him; \u201d again,<br>Deut. 32:17, <em>\u201c<\/em> They sacrificed to devils, not to Eloah.\u201d It is very frequently used in the Book of Job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ELAH_or_ELAHAH_%D7%90%D6%B5%D6%BD%D7%9C%D6%B6%D6%BC%D7%94_or_%D7%90%D6%B1%D7%9C%D6%B8%D6%A3%D7%94%D6%B7%D7%99%D6%B8%D6%BC%D6%94%D7%90\"><\/span>ELAH, or ELAHAH. \u05d0\u05b5\u05bd\u05dc\u05b6\u05bc\u05d4 or \u05d0\u05b1\u05dc\u05b8\u05a3\u05d4\u05b7\u05d9\u05b8\u05bc\u0594\u05d0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The corresponding title to Eloah is in the Chaldee language Elah (<sup>eh<\/sup>-God, singular), or Elahah, emphatic. It is found in the Books of Ezra and Daniel 77 times, and always in the singular when applied to God.<br>The Chaldee portions of the Scriptures (marked in the margin) occur in Ezra and Daniel, with one verse in (Jeremiah 10:11). It is the title of God, as inhabiting eternity, to whom past, present, and future are one eternal now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is composed of the first and last letters of the name Jehovah, Yh, with the central vowel ah -\u05d9\u05b8\u05d4\u05bc\u2014Jah, or Yah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a sublime title, see Ps. 68:4. <em>\u201c<\/em> Extol him that rideth upon the heavens \u201d (or the void spaces of infinitude) \u201cby his name Jah\u201d (the Eternal One), \u201cand rejoice before Him.\u201d The Infinite and the Eternal God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The title Jah or Yah is at once one of the sublimest yet simplest of the Divine names. <em>\u201c<\/em> The simplest form of speech which infant lips can try,\u201d yet expressive of God\u2019s infinitude.
