Flanigan]) <br>We have an opened sanctuary;<br>we have a Man in the glory as our great high priest;<br>we have consciences purged and perfected as far as sins are concerned;<br>we are actually seated in the heavenlies;<br>we have within us the earnest of an indwelling Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_guarded_mind\"><\/span>A guarded mind:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Phil 4:7;Colossians 2:8<br>Philippians 4:7 (NEB)<br>Then <strong><em>the peace of God<\/em><\/strong>, which is beyond our utmost understanding, <strong><em>will keep guard over your hearts and your thoughts<\/em><\/strong>, in Christ Jesus.<br>(NEB) <strong><em>Be&nbsp;<a href=\"assembly:\/\/faithlife.textcomparisonhost\/#\"><\/a>on your guard; do&nbsp;not&nbsp;<a href=\"assembly:\/\/faithlife.textcomparisonhost\/#\"><\/a>let your minds be captured<\/em><\/strong> by hollow and delusive speculations,&nbsp;<a href=\"assembly:\/\/faithlife.textcomparisonhost\/#\"><\/a>based on&nbsp;<strong><em>traditions&nbsp;of man-made teaching&nbsp;and&nbsp;centred on&nbsp;the elemental spirits of the&nbsp;<a href=\"assembly:\/\/faithlife.textcomparisonhost\/#\"><\/a>universe<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;and not&nbsp;<a href=\"assembly:\/\/faithlife.textcomparisonhost\/#\"><\/a>on&nbsp;Christ.<br><br>&#8220;You cannot stop the birds from flying over your tree,<br>but you can stop them from building a nest in it.&#8221;<br>Study, search, know the scriptures that will help you to avoid the deception and temptation of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_convinced_mind\"><\/span>A convinced mind:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Romans 14:1,5,6 <br>When in doubt, go to God in prayer, go to the scriptures, go to a mentor, to settle your mind as to the right path. <br>Try to find comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_settledunsettled_mind\"><\/span>A settled\/unsettled mind:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Galatians 1:7<br>There are persons who <strong><em>unsettle your minds<\/em><\/strong> by trying to distort the gospel of Christ.<br>Galatians 5:10<br>The man who is <strong><em>unsettling your minds<\/em><\/strong>, must bear God\u2019s judgement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Your_mindset_SetDont_set\"><\/span>Your mindset, Set\/Don\u2019t set:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Matthew 6:33; (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>33&nbsp;<\/sup><strong><em>Set your mind on God\u2019s kingdom<\/em><\/strong> and his justice before everything else, and all the rest will come to you as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke 12:31 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>31&nbsp;<\/sup>No, <strong><em>set your mind upon his kingdom<\/em><\/strong>, and all the rest will come to you as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke 12:29 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>29&nbsp;<\/sup>And so you are <strong><em>not to set your mind on food and drink<\/em><\/strong>; <strong><em>you are not to worry.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luke 21:14,15 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>14\u00a0<\/sup>so <strong><em>make up your minds not to prepare your defence <\/em><\/strong>beforehand, 15 because <strong><em>I myself will give you power of utterance and a wisdom<\/em><\/strong> which no opponent will be able to resist or refute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Romans 12:1 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>12\u00a0<\/strong>Therefore, my brothers, I implore you by God\u2019s mercy to <strong><em>offer your very selves to him: a living sacrifice, dedicated and fit for his acceptance, the worship offered by mind and heart.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Romans 12:2 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>2<\/sup><strong><em><sup>\u00a0<\/sup>Adapt yourselves no longer to the pattern of this present world, but let your minds be remade and your whole nature thus transformed. <\/em><\/strong>Then you will be able to discern the will of God, and to know what is good, acceptable, and perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Philippians 3:13\u201319 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>13\u00a0<\/sup>My friends, I do not reckon myself to have got hold of it yet. All I can say is this: forgetting what is behind me, and reaching out for that which lies ahead, <sup>14\u00a0<\/sup><strong><em>I press towards the goal to win the prize which is God\u2019s call to the life above, in Christ Jesus<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>15\u00a0<\/sup><strong><em>Let us then keep to this way of thinking<\/em><\/strong>, those of us who are mature. If there is any point on which you think differently, this also God will make plain to you. <sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>Only let our conduct be consistent with the level we have already reached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>17\u00a0<\/sup><strong><em>Agree together, my friends, to follow my example. You have us for a model; watch those whose way of life conforms to it. <\/em><\/strong><sup>18\u00a0<\/sup>For, as I have often told you, and now tell you with tears in my eyes, <strong><em>there are many whose way of life makes them enemies of the cross of Christ.<\/em><\/strong> <sup>19\u00a0<\/sup>They are heading for destruction, appetite is their god, and they glory in their shame. <strong><em>Their minds are set on earthly things.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 Timothy 6:3,4 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>3\u00a0<\/sup>If anyone is teaching otherwise, and <strong><em>will not give his mind to wholesome precepts<\/em><\/strong>\u2014I mean those of our Lord Jesus Christ\u2014and to good religious teaching,<br><sup>4\u00a0<\/sup><strong><em>I call him a pompous ignoramus<\/em><\/strong>. He is morbidly keen on mere verbal questions and quibbles, which give rise to jealousy, quarrelling, slander, base suspicions,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hebrews 12:15\u201317 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>15\u00a0<\/sup>Look to it that there is <strong><em>no one among you who forfeits the grace of God, no bitter, noxious weed growing up to poison the whole, <sup>16\u00a0<\/sup>no immoral person, no one worldly-minded<\/em><\/strong> like Esau. <sup>17\u00a0<\/sup><strong><em>He sold his birthright for a single meal<\/em><\/strong>, and you know that although he wanted afterwards to claim the blessing, he was rejected; though he begged for it to the point of tears, he found no way open for second thoughts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">James 1:5\u20138 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>5\u00a0<\/sup>If any of you falls short in wisdom, he should <strong><em>ask God<\/em><\/strong> for it and it will be given him, for God is a generous giver who neither refuses nor reproaches anyone. <sup>6\u00a0<\/sup>But <strong><em>he must ask in faith, without a doubt in his mind<\/em><\/strong>; for <strong><em>the doubter<\/em><\/strong> is like a heaving sea ruffled by the wind. <sup>7\u00a0<\/sup><strong><em>A man of that kind must not expect the Lord to give him anything<\/em><\/strong>; <sup>8\u00a0<\/sup><strong><em>he is double-minded<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>and never can keep a steady course.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">James 4:8 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>8\u00a0<\/sup>Come close to God, and he will come close to you. <strong><em>Sinners, make your hands clean;you who are double-minded, see that your motives are pure.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 Peter 3:8 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><sup>8&nbsp;<\/sup>To sum up: <strong><em>be one in thought and feeling, all of you; be full of brotherly affection, kindly and humble-minded.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 Peter 4:1 (NEB)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remembering that <strong><em>Christ <\/em><\/strong>endured bodily suffering, you must <br><strong><em>arm yourselves with a temper of mind like his<\/em><\/strong>.
